{"id":698,"date":"2026-06-30T16:53:40","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T14:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advanced-materials-devices.ipcms.unistra.fr\/?page_id=698"},"modified":"2026-07-03T14:05:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T12:05:54","slug":"facilities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/advanced-materials-devices.ipcms.unistra.fr\/?page_id=698","title":{"rendered":"Facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">                   <br>                                     <br>Our activity relies on a complete, in-house chain from device fabrication to low-temperature quantum transport, complemented by the shared platforms of the IPCMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color: #9b51e0;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Nanofabrication and 2D materials<\/span> <span style=\"color: #9b51e0;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">(see also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcms.fr\/equipe\/nanofabrication\/\">STnano platform <\/a>)<\/span><\/strong><br>We access the STnano cleanroom, part of the national Renatech+ network, for the full nanostructuring process flow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Lithography<\/em><\/strong>: electron-beam lithography (Zeiss Supra 40 + Raith Elphy Plus), direct laser writing (Heidelberg \u00b5PG101, 375 nm), and optical mask alignment (S\u00fcss MJB4 \/ MJB3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Thin-film deposition<\/em>: <\/strong>e-beam evaporation of metals (Plassys MEB550S and MEB400), Joule evaporation (Plassys MEB300, with LN\u2082-cooled stage), magnetron sputtering (Alliance Concept EVA300+, RF\/DC), and glovebox-integrated atomic layer deposition (Al\u2082O\u2083 and HfO\u2082).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Etching<\/em><\/strong>: Ar\u207a ion-beam etching with in-situ SIMS end-point detection, reactive ion etching (Plasmalab 80 Plus, ICP), and wet acid etching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>2D materials Lab (2DLab)<\/strong><\/em>: a dedicated cleanroom for exfoliation of graphene and transition-metal dichalcogenides and for assembly of van der Waals heterostructures, using three transfer stations including 2 fully automated glovebox setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Back-end and characterization<\/strong><\/em>: gold wire bonding, precision dicing, atomic force microscopy (C-AFM, PFM, MFM), profilometry, and probe stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #9b51e0;\" class=\"stk-highlight\"><strong>Cryogenic magnetotransport<\/strong> <strong>(see also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcms.fr\/en\/departement\/departments\/4091-2\/instruments-of-dcmi\/magnetic-measurements\/\">Magnetic Measurements Platform<\/a><\/strong>)<\/span><br>We operate a range of complementary cryogenic systems, from high-field platforms to fast table-top setups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A semi-closed-cycle cryostat, 8 T, base temperature 1.5 K, with a 20 mm insert combining optical fiber access and an attocube AFM stick for local probing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 9 T PPMS, base temperature 2 K, equipped with rotator, FMR, and custom sticks for optics and high-frequency\/impedance measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 12 T PPMS, base temperature 2 K, with the same rotator, FMR, and custom optics\/high-frequency\/impedance capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two table-top cryostats (INSTEC) for fast transport and optoelectronic measurements, one of them optimized for GHz-range high-frequency characterization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color: #9b51e0;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Electrical characterization<\/span><\/strong><br>A complete instrumentation set for DC and AC transport and dielectric response:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lock-in amplifiers (Stanford Research, Zurich Instruments MFLI) with dedicated preamplifiers, for combined AC and DC measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Multiple source-measure units (Keithley 26xx series).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Impedance analyzer and impedance spectroscopy setups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keithley 4200 parametric analyzer with multiple options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laser sources and diodes coupled to optical fibers and cryostat inserts for optoelectronic and photo-response measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And others &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our activity relies on a complete, in-house chain from device fabrication to low-temperature quantum transport, complemented by the shared platforms of the IPCMS.
